Ante Natal Services: the midwife
holds a clinic once a week at the
surgery for your pregnancy care.
Please ask at reception for details
of this clinic.
Asthmatic/COPD Checks:
These checks are nurse lead and
patients will be invited annually
for a review of their condition.
Cervical Smears: Most
women between the ages of 25-64 are
recommended to have regular Cervical
Smears. Our Practice Nurses all take
cervical smears and you will be sent
an invitation to attend at the
appropriate time.
Child Surveillance Clinic:
Regular checks on your baby’s growth
and development are scheduled
throughout the pre-school years. We
work closely with the Health
Visitors to provide appropriate
checks.
Childhood Immunisations:
We hold immunisation clinics. Your
child will be scheduled when due for
an immunisation and an appointment
will be sent to you.

Diabetic Checks: We have
regular, nurse lead clinics, to
which you will be invited annually
should you have this medical
condition.
Elderly Health Checks: All
patients over the age of 75 will be
offered a check of their health,
once a year performed by our
Healthcare Assistant.
Epilepsy Checks: Should
you suffer with this condition we
will send you an appointment to
attend the surgery on an annual
basis for a review. This is in
addition to any hospital
appointments you may already attend.
Family Planning Services:
All the Doctor’s and Practice Nurses
are happy to discuss family planning
matters.
Hypertension (High Blood
Pressure): In addition to seeing
the Doctor, all hypertensive
patients are encouraged to see the
Healthcare Assistant or Practice
Nurse at least annually for a
review.
Leg Ulcer Care: The
practice nurse will refer you on to
the district nursing team for the
treatment of leg ulcers.
Mental Health/Dementia
Reviews: We also run an annual
appointment recall system for our
patients with such conditions.
Minor Surgery Service:
Minor surgical procedures are
undertaken at the practice. A
consultation with the GP is required
before the appointment for minor
surgery is arranged.
New Patient Screening: Within
28 days of registering with the
practice for the first time, you
will be invited to attend an initial
health screen with our Healthcare
Assistant. This is strongly
recommended.
Oral Contraceptive Checks: An
appointment with a Practice Nurse
for a routine check is required
every 6 months. Patients need only
see a Doctor if there are problems.
Phlebotomy: Our Healthcare
Assistant is available via
appointment only Monday-Friday
(Mornings only).
