a - z Health Promotion and Specialised Clinics

Ante Natal Services: the midwife holds a clinic once a week at the surgery for your pregnancy care. Please ask at reception for details of this clinic.

Asthmatic/COPD Checks: These checks are nurse lead and patients will be invited annually for a review of their condition.

Cervical Smears: Most women between the ages of 25-64 are recommended to have regular Cervical Smears. Our Practice Nurses all take cervical smears and you will be sent an invitation to attend at the appropriate time.

Child Surveillance Clinic: Regular checks on your baby’s growth and development are scheduled throughout the pre-school years. We work closely with the Health Visitors to provide appropriate checks.

Childhood Immunisations: We hold immunisation clinics. Your child will be scheduled when due for an immunisation and an appointment will be sent to you.
CLICK HERE for the immunisation schedule.

Diabetic Checks: We have regular, nurse lead clinics, to which you will be invited annually should you have this medical condition.

Elderly Health Checks: All patients over the age of 75 will be offered a check of their health, once a year performed by our Healthcare Assistant.

Epilepsy Checks: Should you suffer with this condition we will send you an appointment to attend the surgery on an annual basis for a review. This is in addition to any hospital appointments you may already attend.

Family Planning Services: All the Doctor’s and Practice Nurses are happy to discuss family planning matters.

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): In addition to seeing the Doctor, all hypertensive patients are encouraged to see the Healthcare Assistant or Practice Nurse at least annually for a review.

Leg Ulcer Care: The practice nurse will refer you on to the district nursing team for the treatment of leg ulcers.

Mental Health/Dementia Reviews: We also run an annual appointment recall system for our patients with such conditions.

Minor Surgery Service: Minor surgical procedures are undertaken at the practice. A consultation with the GP is required before the appointment for minor surgery is arranged.

New Patient Screening: Within 28 days of registering with the practice for the first time, you will be invited to attend an initial health screen with our Healthcare Assistant. This is strongly recommended.

Oral Contraceptive Checks: An appointment with a Practice Nurse for a routine check is required every 6 months. Patients need only see a Doctor if there are problems.

Phlebotomy: Our Healthcare Assistant is available via appointment only Monday-Friday (Mornings only).
